Data and Privacy at CVMatch
CVMatch stores your CV in your account so you can return to it, and processes optimisations through Anthropic's Claude via our secure backend. Your data is never sold. You can delete individual optimisations or your whole account at any time. CVMatch operates under UK GDPR and you have full rights to access, correct and erase your data.
Where your CV is stored
Your account, CV uploads, generated outputs and credit history are stored in a managed UK/EU database with row-level security, so only your account can access your data.
Who processes your CV
When you run an optimisation, your CV text and the job description are sent to Anthropic (Claude) through an authenticated server-side function. Anthropic does not use your data to train its models.
How to delete your data
You can delete individual saved optimisations from your dashboard. To delete your whole account and all associated CV data, email hello@cvmatch.co.uk. We action account deletions within 30 days. Payment metadata is retained for 6 years to meet UK tax law.
Your UK GDPR rights
You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate information, ask us to delete it, object to processing, withdraw consent and complain to the ICO. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
A practical example
Anna runs five optimisations during a job search, gets a role, and wants to clean up. She opens her dashboard, deletes the saved optimisations she no longer needs, and emails hello@cvmatch.co.uk to close her account. Within 30 days, all CV content tied to her account is removed.
